Lee’s fellow 2006 graduate Zaire-Emery earns first call-up to the French national team

Lee Kang-In (22-Paris Saint-Germain)’s teammate Warren Zaire-Emery (17) has been named to the French national team.

On Tuesday (July 10), the French Football Association announced its roster ahead of the group stage of the European Football Championship (Euro 2024) in November.

Most notably, France head coach Didier Deschamps has called up the 2006-born Zaire-Emerick ahead of two matches against Gibraltar and Greece. France have already booked their place in the knockout stages of Euro 2024 Group B with six straight wins.

Zaire-Emery has been a regular midfielder for PSG this season. He has scored two goals in 10 Ligue 1 appearances. He has also appeared in all four matches of the UEFA Champions League (UCL), a star-studded competition.

Despite his young age, he has attracted a lot of attention for his quick feet, work rate, and accurate kicking.

He made his Ligue 1 debut last season at the age of 16 years and 151 days, making him the youngest player in PSG’s history to make an appearance. In September, he was named captain of the France U21 national team under Thierry Henry.

“(Zaire-Emerick) is young, but he has shown tremendous potential and maturity in his PSG career,” said Deschamps, the A’s head coach, in a press release.

Zaire-Emerick will likely make his debut for the A’s in the two-game series. Real Madrid (Spain)’s Aurélien Chouaményi was recently ruled out of a league match against Barcelona with a foot injury.

“I didn’t necessarily pick him because of Chouameni’s absence,” Deschamps said, reiterating that he chose him on merit.

Deschamps added that there is a good chance he will include Zaire-Emery at Euro 2024 next year.

“Why not?” he said when asked about the possibility of him playing at Euro 2024, “He has everything. He has the potential to play at international level at PSG. Of course, he is one of the candidates for Euro 2024.” 보스토토 주소

Meanwhile, teammates Kylian Mbappe, Achraf Hakimi and others congratulated Zaire-Emerick on his first senior international call-up, according to a video released by PSG. France captain Mbappe was all smiles as he hugged him.
