‘Son Heung-min 76th minute’ Tottenham beat Luton 1-0 despite playing with 10 men, move top of league!

Tottenham Hotspur overcame a 10-man deficit to move to the top of the league with a win.

Tottenham earned a 1-0 away win over Luton Town in the eighth round of the 2023-24 English Premier League (PL) at Kenilworth Road in Luton, England, on July 7 (8:30 p.m. ET). The win extends Spurs’ unbeaten run to eight games since the start of the season, with six wins and two draws to move to the top of the league with 20 points for the first time.

Fellow leaders Manchester City and Arsenal have yet to play their eighth round matches. The top spot is temporary. But the win came in the midst of an extreme situation with the sending off of Yves Bissouma. It was also a big game for Tottenham, as they went unbeaten and moved into first place.

Son Heung-min, who is reportedly playing with a groin injury, started the game as the first-choice striker and played 76 minutes before being substituted. Unfortunately, they were unable to pick up any offensive points and failed to score for the third consecutive game.
What was expected to be an easy win against promoted Luton Town was disrupted in the third minute of first-half stoppage time when midfielder Yves Bissouma was sent off for an accumulation of bookings.

Spurs’ dramatic five-game winning streak since then has been led by defender Micky van der Penn, who joined the team in the transfer window. Considered one of Spurs’ best signings of the season, van der Vaart scored his debut goal on the day and had one of the best performances of the season in the team’s clean sheet victory.

Tottenham went with a 4-2-3-1 formation on the day. Son Heung-min started up front for the fifth consecutive game, with Dejan Klucepski, Jamieson Maddison, and Anthony Martial in the attacking two. Pape Sarr and Bissouma started in midfield, while the backline was Pedro Foro, Christian Romero, Van der Penn and Destiny Udoji. Guglielmo Vicario remained in goal.

Luton lined up in a 3-4-3 formation. The attacking combination of Adebayo, Carlton Morris and Jacob Brown were joined by Alfie Doherty, Marvelous Nakamba, Pelly Ruddock Mpanjoo and Chiedochie Ogbenee in central and flanking midfield. The back three was Reece Burke-Tom Lockyer-Maj Andersen, with Tomasz Kaminski in goal. 먹튀검증
