The NBA will return to Christmas Day games in the 2023-24 season.
The NBA announced the full schedule for the 2023-24 season on Monday morning (Jan. 18), revealing four Christmas Day games.
The Christmas games are the NBA’s most anticipated games of the year. It’s the biggest holiday in the U.S., so it’s a great time to see the favorites and the most talked-about teams face off.
This Christmas, like last year, there will be five games. The Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics and Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers and Miami, and Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns.
The most notable of these are Golden State vs. Denver, which has been confirmed for national television, and Boston vs. the Lakers, a “classic” matchup. The most famous rivalry in NBA history pits LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the one-two punch of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown against each other. They’ll be fired up about their goals for the upcoming season, looking to become the first NBA team to win 18 championships.
But this Christmas matchup is also notable for a game that won’t be on national television. Seven of the nine players who have been named regular-season MVP in the last 15 seasons are playing in the Christmas Day game.
The Lakers’ LeBron (2009, 10, 12, 13), Phoenix’s Kevin Durant (14), Golden State’s Steph Curry (14, 15), Philadelphia’s James Harden (18) and Joel Embiid (23), Milwaukee’s Yannis Adetokunbo (19, 20), and Denver’s Nikola Jokic (21, 22). 먹튀검증
In addition, the Lakers (2020), Milwaukee (2021), Golden State (2022) and Denver (2023), who have lifted the NBA championship trophy in each of the last four years, will play Christmas Day games, as will Milwaukee New York and Boston, the teams Miami beat en route to the Eastern Conference championship.
