Tottenham Hotspur are targeting FC Barcelona’s Matteo Allemanni as their next technical director.
“Tottenham are considering Allemanni as a candidate for their new director of football,” transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote on his social media accounts on Sunday (September 17). Allemanni is set to part ways with Barcelona on September 2.”
Tottenham are currently without a director of football. Fabio Paratici, who was appointed in July 2021, was suspended for 30 months for manipulating the books at Juventus. Initially, the suspension was limited to Italian soccer, but Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) expanded its scope to include the entire world. Paratici appealed the punishment imposed by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), but it was rejected and he left Tottenham in April.
Despite his departure from Spurs, FIFA partially lifted the ban imposed on him in April. With the ban lifted, Paratici has been helping Spurs in a consulting capacity. However, he is still not allowed to participate in contract negotiations with players and their agents. 메이저사이트
With Paratici’s return uncertain, Spurs are looking for a new director of football. One of the names on Spurs’ radar is Barcelona boss Allemani, who was set to leave the club on May 3 to join EPL side Aston Villa. Villa was the favorite, but negotiations broke down and he remained at Barcelona. Allemanni will part ways with Barcelona on September 2, when the transfer window closes.
The Spaniard began his career in football management in 1990, when he was just 27 years old, by becoming Real Mallorca’s assistant manager. Three years later, in 1993, he became the club’s president, and in 2000, the club’s chairman. After leaving Mallorca, he was appointed president of Valencia in March 2017, but was sacked in November 2019. He is currently in charge of Barcelona under the leadership of president Juan Laporta.
