The Lotte Giants clinched a midweek three-game road series with a 12-8 win over the Kiwoom Heroes of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on Tuesday.
The Lotte bats pounded out 18 hits and two home runs. Jeon Jun-woo hit his 10th home run of the season, while Ahn Chi-hong also had three hits with his fourth home run of the season. Lee Jung-hoon, Yoon Dong-hee, and Nico Goodrum also had three-hit games. Kim Min-seok and Lee Jung-geun had multi-hit games. Starting pitcher Han Hyun-hee allowed four runs on five hits (one home run) in four innings with two walks and four strikeouts. The bullpen of Shim Jae-min (⅔ innings, 2 runs), Shin Jung-rak (⅓ innings, no runs), Kim Sang-soo (⅓ innings, no runs), Koo Seung-min (1⅔ innings, no runs), Choi Jun-yong (1 inning, no runs), Choi Young-hwan (⅓ innings, 2 runs, 1 earned run), and Kim Won-joong (⅔ innings, no runs) preserved the win.
Head Coach Larry Sutton said, “We gave up three runs in the first inning, but we didn’t give up and battled back and then added another run. The pitchers struggled, but the guys made plays as the team found a way to win today. It was a great team effort for nine innings. Lotte will travel to Sajik Stadium in Busan on April 11 for a three-game home series against the KIA Tigers. Aaron Wilkerson will start for Lotte and Thomas Pannoni for KIA.
