The KT Wiz won the first game of a three-game series against the Hanwha Eagles behind a four-hit bomb from Hwang Jae-gyun and seven innings of one-run ball from starter William Cuevas.
KT Wiz won 7-2 at home against the Hanwha Eagles in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League on Monday at KT Wiz Park in Suwon, South Korea. With the win, KT extended its winning streak to two games and kept its chances of jumping into third place alive.
On the day, KT bombarded the Hanwha mound with 15 hits, led by Hwang Jae-gyun and Park Byung-ho. Hwang Jae-gyun went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs, while Park Byung-ho continued his hot hitting with three hits and three RBIs. Kim Min-hyuk also had three hits and Oh Yoon-seok had two hits.
After the game, KT manager Lee Kang-cheol said, “Cuevas, who looked strong against Hanwha, pitched well in the second inning and set the stage for the victory with his stable pitching.
